Avigdor Eskin: Protests in Russia are vital

Famous Israeli right-wing journalist gave an interview to "Russian Courier".

When oil production from shales increases, Arab countries will lose their main source of income. Besides, the new authorities in these countries soon will show their corrupt nature. Life will become much worse than it is now. Let Europe be prepared for new waves of refugees.

- Avigdor, "revolutions" in Tunis, Egypt - what consequences, in your opinion, all these events will entail and who eventually will come to power in these countries? Do Islamists have chances?

- In Egypt the power gradually passes to Sunni Islamists. It's a natural process. The current regime has become obsolete, and there is no alternative but the Muslim Brotherhood.

There is no reason to fear immediate radical changes. Events in Egypt will be developing steadily, as it was in Iran in 1978-1979. However, the level of the peoples' enthusiasm and the degree of mob's seething will be tangibly lower. The point is that Islamists had been pressed hard in Egypt, but it didn't hamper them to use banks for many-millioned transactions for the international terrorism. On the territory of Egypt there flourish such centers of Islamism and terrorism as Al-Azhar University.

It's highly probable that this wave will cover both Tunis and Algeria, but in Morocco the royal regime is stronger and has its centuries-old traditions. It may be also assumed that Lebanon and Jordan, as well as "Palestinians", will pass through the growing Islamization. However, all this will end in failure. When oil production from shales increases, Arab countries will lose their main source of income. Besides, the new authorities in these countries soon will show their corrupt nature. Life will become much worse, than it is now. Let Europe be prepared for new waves of refugees.

Russia must take into consideration that it was precisely "The Muslim Brotherhood" who are coming to power in Egypt, who financed and supported Chechen thugs. Islamization of Europe will lead to the temporary increase of passionarity in the ranks of "hordes".

- Avigdor, whom do you mean by "hordes"?

- We call "hordes" those who are trying to take advantage out of the Russian authority's weakness and of the grave situation in the country in order to torment Russia. They grab parts of her body and move step by step, relying on ideology of Islamist terrorist International. They by no means confine themselves to a sort of terror like explosions in metro and airports. They terrorize Russian people everywhere. We know for sure that crimes against the Russian people aren't in the lists of the "hate crimes". There is no organization which would monitor the motives of those numerous murders, rapes and robberies, which had criminal and terrorist context. Women and girls have especially a rough time. They turned out to be defenseless... I suppose that you yourself should clearly define the enemy, so that those, who are not implicated in terror, wouldn't get into trouble. The notion "horde" shouldn't be replaced with the word "Islam". I'll give you such example: during the war in Nagorny Karabakh, it was precisely the Armenian commanders among whom there were those who had passed an international terrorist school in Lebanon. Hodzhala massacre was carried out with the active participation of commander Melkoyan, who had taken training in Lebanon and in 1982 fought on the side of Arafat's hordes against Israel.

- In conditions of Islamization growth of the Israel's neighbouring countries, how do you see the future of Israel in the first half of the 21st century? How successfully Israel Defense Forces and Israeli intelligence services can resist the pressure of Islamists?

- Contrary to popular opinion, I'm sure that time is on Israel's side. Now more than a half of junior school pupils study in religious schools. This ensures high birth rate, high level of patriotism, high level of education, while rejecting the decay process of the West. Israel is on the whole much more traditional than Iran. Islamization of the Arab world is superficial. They all combined don't have a tenth of theology students in comparison with Israel. Not to mention quality. But we perfectly understand that the future is determined not so much by the level of university education, as by the level of theologian ideological development. Check birth tendencies in the Arab world and you will get evidence that their passionarity is in decline. Even in Iran there are just 1.8 children per family. It's lower than in the USA... Israel is one of the world's biggest military and nuclear powers. If we reinforce our spiritual and ideological basis, there will be nothing to fear.

- What do you think about a widespread term "Judeo-Christian civilization"?

- Such term exists and it's used in the USA, but it's wrong. American system of values not only has nothing to do with Judaism, but even to a large extent opposes it. We have implanted the primacy of spirit, wisdom and asceticism, whereas America is a country of Golden Calf. One of our main tasks is to free ourselves from American influence. Unfortunately, there are enough Jews in the USA, Russia and Israel itself, to whom Judaic values are alien. They don't understand that liberal democracy is an antipode to Torah's ideas. But these assimilated people quit the stage without leaving a trace, like falling leaves, but the tree of our oldest tradition is alive and will survive all challenges of epoch.

- Today’s operations in Iraq and Afghanistan are assessed by many on both sides as a new Crusade. Do you agree with such assessment?

-  I haven’t noticed that American military campaigns had any ideological basis close to the ideas of crusaders. It’s nothing but a fine word.

- How does your social and political attitude towards Russia, Russian people and South African white minority echo in modern Israel? Which political forces in Israel would you call like-minded persons?

- Like many traditional societies, Israel is introversive. Few are interested in geopolitics and dialogue with other nations. It’s understandable, since our domestic problems are very acute indeed. We can definitely assert that within religious circles there is unacceptance of American liberalism and lifestyle. This concerns the nationally thinking secular part of the society as well. However, the elite hasn’t got rid yet of its internal dependence from the West and the USA. The attitude towards white people in South Africa was and remains to be the warmest one, because they have been the only allies of Israel. As for Russia, she really can’t be understood by the mind. Everything is so confused there, so don’t expect understanding from ordinary people.

- During the last half of the year, the German chancellor, the prime minister of the United Kingdom and even the president of France announced the failure of multiculturalism in their countries. Do you think that these are the indications of refusal to pursue the previous policy of encouraging Muslims’ expansion in Europe?

- The West hasn’t woken up yet. Statements made by Merkel, Cameron and Sarkozy show that the people start to realize maleficence of the current affairs, but they have no ideological alternative. The West is passing through the deepest spiritual crisis for the whole its history. Nowadays the West can contrast Islam only with miniskirts and gay parades.

- Many right-wing politicians like Netherlander Geert Wilders and Frenchwoman Marine Le Pen speak from a pro-Israeli position. Would you please comment this tendency in modern right-wing politics of Europe?

- European right-wing politicians haven’t formulated a clear ideology yet. All they know is that they don’t what Islamization. I’m afraid that at present they have nothing to contrast with. If there was an appeal to traditionalism, to Guenon’s ideas, then it would be possible to have a more optimistic outlook on Europe. But as long as they contrast Islam with secularism, the things are in a bad way. Israel can cooperate with them tactically, but no common strategy between them is seen. Nevertheless, it’s necessary to meet with them and to exchange ideas in the hope of spiritual awakening in the West.

- Which political and social forces in modern Russia could you call your ideological allies?

- Russian conservatives and national loyalists of different directions are kindred and understandable for me. Sometimes I’m surprised at those who by reasons of their hatred to Jews are ready to transform Russia into an integral part of the terrorist caliphate.

- Avigdor, you are one of those few who haven’t condemned the rally at Manezhnaya square. Why?

- For me the protest at Manezh was the evidence that the Russian people are alive and ready to fight. That was the protest against a large-scale terror like explosions in metro and Domodedovo, but to a larger degree, it was the protest against a small terror in all Russian towns. Since I wish Russia and the Russian people life and victory, I couldn’t help hailing this sort of manifestation of will to victory.

This doesn’t mean that I liked all slogans and deeds of the demonstrators. Attacking people on grounds of their darker skin must be punished mercilessly. But on the whole I’m sure that the protests and rallies are vital. They are intended for making the authorities act adequately.

- How do you assess the impact of Wikileaks website on modern politics? And in general, what is the importance of information technologies – twitter, youtube, blogs, facebook?

- Modern technologies play the role of substitute for normal human feelings and impulses. In bygone days people also came out on a square. But nowadays people are more and more apathetic, and modern means of communication play the role of a sort of Viagra, which makes up for spiritual defectiveness of internet users.

- You are well acquainted with the South African reality. What is the condition of white community there (Boers and Anglo-Saxons)? What are their prospects?

- White people in South Africa agreed to hand over power to black people in 1994. Terrorists from the National African Congress came to power. During these 16 years more than 50 000 white people have been exterminated there, more than 200 000 white women have been raped. Taking into consideration that no less than 20% of black people are infected with AIDS, many raped women turned out to be infected as well.

Since the middle of the 80s, I have had special relationship with South African Boers. It won’t surprise you, because Israel and South African Republic had been the closest allies up to 1994. I suppose that many Russians remember their compatriots helping Boers at the beginning of the 20th century. Now our friends need our help and support. It’s precisely the Russians and the Israelis who are their hope. There is nobody but us who could lend a helping hand to them. If we don’t help them to come back to power and create for them a state on the part of RSA’s territory, they will be threatened with a real genocide. Will we keep silent?

He was also accused of sympathizing with Yigal Amir, the murderer of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. He was released from prison on the 20th of February, 2003. According to Eskin’s friends, “now every person, who dares to tell the truth about the Arab-Israeli relations, is declared to be a far-right extremist”.

Avigdor Eskin is the author of hundreds of articles in Hebrew and English, as well as of thousands of articles in Russian. He has released three books: “Israel. Faith. Truth” (2000), “A Commentary On the Book of Psalms” (2005), “Tikkun Klali” (2006).
