The Right Wing Resistance was founded in Christchurch by a group of white nationalists led by Kyle Chapman, the former leader of the New Zealand National Front. Their first introduction to the New Zealand public was their Christchurch Street Patrols. Chapman was reported to have taken a break from his right wing activities in May 2009.
Now two years on the RWRNZ has become more active and gained more media attention in Christchurch. Their flyer drops have cause public opinion to be mixed on the Press forum after their articles about the "Immigration or Invasion" flyer.
They have been known to help organise protests and other street activities alongside the NZ National Front. One thing the National Front does not support is the European Land base project that is one of the primary plans that Chapman has for the RWRNZ.
